Memories are Made of This: Official Trailer – 31st Edition of the French Film Festival UK

Watch the trailer for The Taste of Things (due for release soon) and listen in to the interview with Driving Madeleine director Christian Carion

The Taste of Things

Scheduled for its UK release on February 14, The Taste of Things is a mouthwatering and sensual exercise in haute cuisine and late-flowering romance. Peerless cook Eugénie (Juliette Binoche) has worked for the famous gourmet Dodin (Benoît Magimel) for the last 20 years.. As time went by, the practice of gastronomy and mutual admiration turned into a romantic relationship. There is talk of marriage but Eugénie values her independence too much in a relationship that she considers should be of equal parts. Both Binoche and Magimel who were together in life for a considerable time, exude an effortless rapport. Chosen as France’s Oscar contender.

Christian Carion Interview

For French Film Festival UK’s 31st instalment, Driving Madeleine director Christian Carion joined the team in Edinburgh to talk about his emotive first reaction to the script, social attitudes to older generations, and his iconic protagonists, Line Renaud and Dany Boon.

Interviewer: Harriet Bunnett (FFF23 Events Co-ordinator & Festival Assistant)
