An intimate document of the recording of the Emerson String Quartet's final album.

After 47 years of playing music together, the Emerson String Quartet recorded their last album, Infinite voyage, in three days. For this farewell, they invited soprano Barbara Hannigan to join them, and a film was born, produced, directed, filmed and recorded by actor Mathieu Amalric (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, Quantum of Solace). Before it’s Too Late invites the audience behind-the-scenes of the Quartet’s final collaboration: with moments of fright and enthusiasm, research and jokes, evening meals and morning confidences, craft and discovery…
