Screen Argyll is delighted to announce the UK release of Maya, Give Me a Title (Maya, donne-moi un titre), the latest film from internationally acclaimed filmmaker Michel Gondry, marking a significant milestone as the organisation’s first ever theatrical film distribution release and a first collaboration with French Film Festival UK.
Maya, Give Me a Title is a playful and inventive animated comedy that celebrates creativity, storytelling and the special bond between parent and child.

The film is available to book in DCP, Blu-ray and MP4 formats on standard preview terms: a 35% exhibitor share, with a minimum guarantee of £100 per venue for theatrical screenings and £70 MG against 35% exhibitor share, per venue, for community cinema screenings/non-theatrical.

Known for his distinctive visual imagination and Academy Award-winning work, Michel Gondry has crafted the film using a combination of hand-made paper cut-out animation, stop motion and
live action. The stories are inspired by ideas from his daughter, Maya, while they are living in different countries. To stay connected, Maya sends her father titles, which Gondry transforms into colourful miniature adventures using paper, scissors and tape. The result is a charming and deeply personal film that invites audiences of all ages into a world where imagination knows no bounds.
The film premiered in France in 2024 before receiving international acclaim, including winning the Crystal Bear for Best Film in the Generation Kplus section at the 2025 Berlin International Film Festival. It is part of the official selection for this year’s French Film Festival UK running from 4 November to 10 December 2026.
With its inventive visual style, gentle humour and celebration of handmade creativity, Maya, Give Me a Title offers a unique cinematic experience for families, film lovers and anyone who delights in the power of imagination.
