Breath-taking award-winning nature documentary following three generations of the Munier family as they explore the majestic wildlife of France's Vosges forests.

Delving deep into the woodland realms, where lynxes, bears, deer, owls, capercaillies and river creatures roam, director Vincent Munier not only seeks to pay tribute once again to the visual splendour of nature but also to capture the forest’s poetic sounds.

The whispers of the woods are echoing the whispers passed from Munier’s father to himself, and now to his own son. This becomes a heartfelt declaration of Munier’s love for his father, intertwining familial
bonds with the untamed beauty of the natural world.

Munier returned to make the film in his native Vosges in northeastern France, revisiting the forests and mountains where he first started photographing animals as a teenager. Awarded a César for best
documentary of the year.

"Combines breathtaking footage of nature and its sounds to create a fairytale-like cinematic experience that slows time down." - Letterboxd
