Gilles Perret, a neighbour, made his first film about them in 1997, as they hand over their farm to the next generation. Twenty-five years later, the director-neighbour takes up the camera again to accompany Hélène, who, in turn, is handing over the reins. Through the words and actions of the people who have succeeded one another, the film reveals compelling life journeys where work and transmission occupy a central place: an intimate, social and economic story of the French farming world
"Gilles Perret does not hide the closeness he has with the members of the Bertrand family who are his neighbours, in a respective understanding of what it means to inhabit a territory over the long term."
