Fantômas, the genius of crime and king of burglary, terrorises Paris. Louis Feuillade who was artistic director of Gaumont at the time was keen to capitlise on the success of the Fantômas series of novels written by Pierre Souvestre and Marcel Allain. This first episode marks the beginning of an exciting detective story with many surprises… A great classic of French silent cinema, shot in a long-forgotten Paris.
