Glasgow – Film Theatre

November 25, 2026 @ 18:00

A young theatre director, Nina, faces broken equipment, massive actor egos, and a stranded lead actress in a chaotic, three-hour race against the clock to save her premiere of Shakespeare's Macbeth.

This backstage farce describes a day in the life of the oldest and most prestigious theatre company in the world, founded in 1680 under Louis XIV. It has also emerged as one of the most delightful comedies of the year and became a sleeper hit over the summer. Directed by Bertrand Usclat and Martin Darondeau with energy and fervour the action starts just three hours before the premiere of a production of Macbeth that is being directed by novice Nina (Pauline Clément).

Everything that can go wrong does as the clock ticks: an actor is stuck on a train, tensions explode, equipment breaks down, egos clash, and panic sets in. With no way out and time slipping away, Nina must hold the show together at all costs. But will she make it until the curtain rises?

"Inspired by Call My Agent, this backstage farce lovingly skewers Paris' most elite theatre." - Variety
