London – Ciné Lumière

November 15, 2025 @ 18:20

Climate change, overpopulation, and political inertia have pushed Earth to the brink. In a desperate bid for a fresh start, France decides to launch its first "popular space relocation programme" — essentially, deporting its less privileged citizens into orbit in search of a better life.

In the utmost secrecy, preparations are underway for the first African space mission. The crew, made up of members from the continent and its diaspora, is tasked with exploring the planet NARDAL to assess whether it could become a refuge for all Africans should Earth become uninhabitable. The catch? The journey will be long. Very long. And the greatest unknown in interstellar missions remains: how well the astronauts get on with each other. Zadi who first film was Simply Black (Tout simplement noir) explained the project: “”I wanted to write science fiction, but from a new perspective: African and environmental.”
