This debut feature film from illustrator and graphic novel creator Ugo Bienvenu has much on its mind, telling a story of unexpected friendship and the fate of a world impacted by climate change.

Bienvenu and co-writer Félix de Givry deliver a timely warning about the evils of climate change as we see the results of earth-shattering natural events in the future via time traveling people who can visit past eras and errors of human neglect, so that they do not make the same mistakes. The ten-year-old title star’s time-tripping parents and older sister return from their latest visit to the past, but Arco (Oscar Tresanini) had to stay at home because no one under 12 is allowed to do this kind of retro voyage. Instead, he has a robot nanny called Mikki, an android who stores threatened cultural artefacts in its memory and can project Arco’s family as holograms to keep up the family ties even when others are in different time zones.
