Having previously drawn on his background as a doctor for the films Hippocrates and The Freshmen, in his latest dramatically inflected comedy writer-director Thomas Lilti trains his observant eye on a new milieu: high school.
Vincent Lacoste plays freshly accredited substitute teacher Benjamin, whom we meet as he’s setting out to launch his career at the suburban Victor Hugo School. Joining a committed group of colleagues who are passionate about teaching, including the older Pierre (The Intouchables star François Cluzet) and divorced mother Meriem (Adèle Exarchopoulos), Benjamin quickly encounters a host of challenges.
"This thoughtful comedy drama is worth a watch."
