2020 Learning Programme
The French Film Festival UK’s Learning Programme has always been a class act, bringing French-speaking cinema to thousands of pupils and teachers over the years. In these challenging times instead of welcoming school groups to participating cinemas we will bring the festival to you on DVDs which can be shown over a two month period, to suit your schedules. They will be available from 26 October until 18 December 2020. To accompany the selection of films for different age groups, participating teachers will have online access to specific learning resources.
The full Learning Programme contains descriptions of the films, director and cast details, and age recommendations, although teachers are free to make their own assessments. Filmed introductions by the Festival’s Learning team will be included.

School screenings are enhanced by the online free Learning Resources prepared by Lise Morel. These resources have been designed in accordance with the Modern Languages Experience and Outcomes for the Curriculum for Excellence. The online resource material will be available to download on this page as PDFs.
The programme for this edition has been co-ordinated by Yvonne Gordon (Head of Education & Learning) and Chloe Berger (Education & Learning Coordinator) at Edinburgh Filmhouse, in collaboration with French Film Festival UK’s Sylvia Davidson. We also acknowledge the assistance of Philippe Sibeaud, Education Attaché / Director of Studies, Institut français d’Ecosse.
