gatesCompleted just a year after Les Enfants du Paradis, this romantic melodrama from writer Jacques Prévert and director Marcel Carné is set in the months immediately following the liberation of Paris during the Second World War. It follows an eventful night in the life of Jean Diego (Montand). The young man meets a mystical tramp (Vilar) who tells him he is about to encounter the most beautiful woman in the world.
