TREAT ME LIKE FIRE / JOUEURS (N/C 15+)

Stacy Martin (Nymphomaniac) and Tahar Rahim (A Prophet) pair up as lovers-in-crime in Marie Monge’s debut feature, which is set in Paris’ gambling underworld. With shades of Bonnie and Clyde they bet in clandestine Parisian casinos and illegal demolition derbies, living for the moment but landing in debt to some extremely scary people. There’s no doubt things will end badly for them. It plays like a loose and gritty urban take on such films as Badlands, True Romance or even Natural Born Killers.
